TAJ
In July 2008 we adopted Taj (black kelpie x).  I just want to let you know how he is going.
Taj has become one of us.  He is such a loving gentle animal, yet very cheeky at times, but we are really glad we adopted him when we did. All our friends and relatives love him to bits also, especially the little kids.  Taj is so good with them even when they are pulling at him!  Taj just loves to be cuddled and likes attention! Except when it is bath time!! He is fantastic when travelling in the car and often gets sad when we go out without him.  But when we arrive home we get a warm welcome cuddle from Taj.  It really puts a smile on our faces, especially after a bad day at work.
Sometimes he thinks he is a little dog when he decides he wants to sit on a lap! Unfortunately he is a bit big for that. Taj is such a fast learner, and will pick up on things almost instantly.  We took him to obedience training which he excelled at, and we also learnt a lot from this.
Taj has so much character; we couldn't imagine life without him.
Thank you so much for bringing Taj to us and into our lives.

Yolanda now Bella
Just making contact and letting you know how Bella is going. She settled in really well and made herself right at home and is now a part of the the furniture!!
She as an older brother (though he's a third of her size) she plays with all the dogs on the oval and as the best nature anyone could ask for she loves the beach and wont come out of the water she loves it so much.
She as been going to the Rockingham dog club and got an encouragement award. She as boundless energy and loves chasing the birds on the oval and the beach she's never caught one thank god but its good exercise and she thinks it fun even if the birds don't.
Thank You. Best Wishes, Dave

Flicka now Murphy
Hello K9, Adam McGregor here. My partner Lindy and I adopted 'Flicka' back in March . He is know called Murphy.  I just wanted to drop you guys a line and tell you how he is getting on. Well he is fantastic! and settled into our family perfectly. He took a wee while to twig he was here for good and now feels very much at home. He has a great temperament, a very loving dog always wanting and giving hugs. He is still quite excitable around other dogs and absolutely loves chasing birds at our local park (his favourite past time). He loves the beach, especially playing the game chase the shadow in the waves. His training is coming on well, still very excitable but he is getting better everyday, still very much a puppy.
Many thanks again to everyone at K9, you made our visit very enjoyable and have given us a great dog, keep up the good work!
Thanks again, Adam & Lindy x

VIVA now MILO
Hi there, just thought we would drop a line to let you know how Milo is doing now that we have had her for 9 months.
this little girl is the most friendliest, loving and sociable dog we have ever known. Milo never ever barks she just does silly growls when she's excited especially when she sees her dinner coming. Milo is now 17 months old and her favourite thing to do is go to the beach to play with all the other dogs and have a swim.
Milo loves nothing better after a long walk to lay on the sofa in the kitchen and sleep for hours! Even though she is still young if visitors come round sometimes she does not even get off the sofa to say hello and never comes to the front door. Milo is loved by all that see her and everyone comments on how pretty she is. Milo is registered to Rockingham city council and her only naughty habit is not coming back when called!!

Thanks K9 for all you do in getting these dogs out to loving families and giving them a second chance, without you we would not have such a great dog.

Sarah, Andrew, Megan and Amber xx

Herman now Jake
I would like to thank you for introducing us to our wonderful new member of the family!

Herman (now Jake) was adopted from you about three weeks ago by my partner and I, and might I say, he really has settled in beautifully! After an initial couple of nights of him being quite timid and learning to trust us, we knew he had become comfortable when we spotted him walking with quite a bit of attitude, and claiming all of the bones (including our other dog's Layla) in the back yard! He loves cuddling inside with the heater, and loves his daily walks. He has also become accustomed to drives in the car to visit the beach, and will sit and stare out the back seat, watching cars wiz by.
Layla and Jake have now become fast friends, if they are not running around the back yard playing, they are curled up together on their beds or kissing each other (lots and lots of kisses that is!). They cannot be seperated for long as they really do start to miss each other, it was puppy love at first sight! Jake is so happy with us and the smile he constantly has on his face proves it, and the smile and laughs from us show just how happy we are with him too! We love him dearly, and he will have a great life with us.
If it weren't for all of your hard work, care and patience with all the dogs you have to take in, we would never have found Jake. And now that we have him, we could never imagine our life without him. After spending our time with him, it is evident that Jake was abused in a previous life.. and if it wasn't for all of the volunteers, he may never have had a chance to know what it feels like to have a loving family and a new life. Please know what you do is appreciated by all creatures great and small, and I will never forget where I got my puppy from!
Please see attached photo's of our beautiful boy.
Thank you - Amy and Jono.

Hugh now Sammy
Here are some pictures of Hugh (now Sammy) who we brought home two weeks ago.

He has settled in well and is now quite at home with his comfy bed and toys.  Tommy our 13 year old dalmatian has learned to cope with a young buck around the place although I think his speed spins Tommy's brain at times.
Sammy is everyone's favourite and hasn't proven to be any trouble (as yet).  He has even accepted the cat and the cat is reluctantly putting up with him.
He has eaten a couple of shoes (we left them near him) and had dug a hole or two but he will be with us for a very long time.
Thank you for the work you do re-homing dogs and caring for them whilst they wait for their new lives.
Wishing you all the best with your wonderful work
With thanks Tim and Danae

Hans
Been meaning to drop you a line to let you know how Hans is getting on, he has been with us only 2 weeks now and it seems like forever.

He completely fitted in from the beginning and made himself at home, he has been so good we can;t quite believe it, he is mad for the ball and we have to play for hours with any kind of ball, if we try to have a rest he puts it at our feet or on our lap.
He sleeps in the garage, the first night we thought he was going to be like a new baby and cry about it, but not a peep out of him till we got up to see him in the morning.
He is not very good taking for a walk and gets a little too excited and pulls especially if he sees another dog or a ball, he only wants to play but can seem a little boistrous to other people and dogs, therefore we have to take him to doggie school for some social skills.
The first week he was at the vets after a dog nipped his ear and it swelled and was on anti biotics for a week.
He goes to work with my husband when ever possible, Adrian is a tradie, and Hans just loves it and loves going in the car, when ever we just open a car door he jumps in even when we don;t want him to.
But basically he has been great and much better than we ever expected it to be.
Keep up the great work - Alison

Keeya now Alfie
I just wanted to give you an update on our lovely boy Alfie (formerly Keeya). As soon as Alfie came into our lives he was a perfect member of the family. He was very nervous at our first couple of meetings at the kennels but soon learnt to trust us and now he is the most loving little boy. He does have a bit of separation anxiety so he follows me EVERYWHERE! But since we rescued our Maltese, Gumby, he doesn't mind us going out so much, they are the best of friends!  Alfie didn't have the best start in life, he is partially deaf and partially blind due to some ill treatment (he still has scars on his face and his eye is split and can't be repaired) yet still he shows us so much love and trust.

Alfie loves going for his walks and playing with his toys, although he doesn't quite understand that you aren't supposed to eat toys so they don't last long! He can sometimes appear a bit lazy but out of nowhere he gets a burst of energy and goes crazy around the house and howls at us until we chase him!

I can't thank you enough for introducing us to this cheeky, playful boy.

You do a wonderful job, thank you. Liz, Andrew, Harrison and Benjamin

Marshall now Max
We are very happy since we got Marshall- ( his new name is Max from an EIGHT BELOW movie  about Husky dogs). He is a very sweet dog. We play and exercise everyday in the park along with our other dog Jake. Here are some of our photos together.

Sincerely, Giselle
