Wellard now  Jett
We adopted Jett in August 08, he was a little scared of strangers for a few days, but now he is the friendliest, most playful dog we've ever had! He gets along really well with other dogs and only needs a lead when walking near roads, he always comes when called back etc.
We got Jett for our 1 1/2 yr old son Callum and they are now inseparable! He loves his long walks everyday and enjoys the beach and playing in the sprinkler every night with Callum. He is still digging a little bit but only when Callum isn't with him...being rebellious! :)
Thank you so much for introducing him to us. He is great company, a great guard dog and so fun to be around.
Keep up the great work, will keep in touch again.
Regards, Nicole, Ben and Callum of Safety Bay.

Errol now Magic
About 2 years ago my family and I rescued Errol now renamed Magic from your team in Mandurah. He has become a treasure to our family and gives us lots of laughs. Magic has learnt many tricks over the past years including our favourites shaking hands and bowing. Magic has a very cheeky but cute personality. We are so glad that we were fortunate enough to have him.

Thanks a heap,

Michael, Mary, Ashley, Caity and Holly

Carla now Karma
I was Carla but I am now Karma because I have bought good karma to my new family who had been grieving the loss of their beloved Sheppard Scout.  I  am so like Scout in that I love affection & a good rub & have a beautiful nature.  They think I might have a bit of Egyptian in me because I build enormous pyramids in the back lawn &  I love to excavate.  I have stopped whining constantly when they leave me because I know they will eventually return & take me for long walks on the beach & let me sleep at the foot of their bed in the morning.  I am learning how to play with balls & toys. I now get yummy food twice a day & have put on a few kilos so I am now no longer an anorexic model.  Thank you to all the lovely people at K9 rescue who rescued me from the pound & gave me a second chance.  My new family love me to bits & have given me grandchildren & more dogs to play with.

Kiss Kiss,
Karma
PS I still suffer from flatulence big time.....

Khumo & Lady now Ellie

Hi, haven't been in touch before but attached a couple of pics of Khumo adopted 21/05/05 and Ellie, (K9 name Lady) adopted 28/01/06. Best dogs ever - keep up the great work.

Thanks Dave - Port Kennedy

Bree now Brulee

My partner Glenn and I adopted Bree back in September and we renamed her as Brulee.  We have been meaning to tell you about her for a while.
We have to tell you she changed our lives. She is a fabulous dog; she does not bark unless there is a knock at the door and that's fine and she is just so very happy. We collected her on the Saturday and within a couple of days she had so well fitted into the family, like she has always been with us. We can not imagine our life without her.  She loves to play ball and her favourite game is tug of war.
We have had no issues with her; she is very well trained, we have had no accidents of any kind, she does not chew or bite any of our things.  She adores her frequent weekly walks on the beach and is probably the best swimmer of all the dogs we have met on the beach. She is so very sociable with dogs and people alike, our friends visit us but spend all their time playing with Brulee.
Thank you for bringing such a bundle of love into our lives; you do such a wonderful job. You spent so much time talking to us when we first visited you, which makes this whole experience such a fabulous one for us.
Thank you all and Brulee thanks you for bringing us all together.
Happy 2009 and may you continue with more success stories.
Please enjoy our pictures of her; we take many of her every week, such is the joy she has brought into our life. Thank you

Zena

I would first like to thank you for letting Zena come in to our lives last year. Here is just a quick update on her; this is a photo of her after we came back from the beach. I think she will not grow up any bigger and we have moved into our new house in Singleton from Rockingham.

Thank you for your time and a happy new year.

Vince now Fez

Adopted 8-7-08  Fez nee Vince - 4229   &   Zef nee Ed  -  4647 adopted 20-2-09

Hi,  Just to let you know & see how well my two boys are getting along with each other.  They are a delight to watch.

Roxy now Kelly
Hi, my mother and I picked Roxy up in 2007 (I think, it feels like we've had her forever).  Roxy is now Kelly and I would like to tell you she has become an integral part of the family! She was a little hard to train at first - she is incredibly active and interested in everything and anything all at once! We are succeeding though, and found that Kelly loves nothing more than galloping along the beach with our horses! She has bulked up considerably (the rotti in her has come out) and is as strong as an ox!

Thankyou

Tee

Jack & Bullitt

We adopted our two dogs a while ago & I thought it was time for an update. We adopted Jack first (I cant remember what you had him down as but it started with a Z) and he was only 6 months old, and approx 6 months later we adopted Carlos (who now goes by the name of Bullitt) who was six months old. They are very much happy dogs who I don’t think could live without each other now. Jack favourite thing is food by a long shot second to sleeping on our bed or getting a tummy scratch, meanwhile Bullitt favourite thing is to PLAY! And he will play “catch me” with bras and socks until we play with him! Bullitt new found love is now standing under a hose and getting wet or a wash.
They make home feel like home and home feel safe and we don’t know what we could do without out them now! Here are some pics of them grown up a bit.

Andrew
2 Years ago I adopted Andrew. When I first saw him behind the fence I knew straight away he had to be mine.
He is such a friendly and energetic dog and is always happy to see me when i walk through the front door. I even adopted him his own little pal Kaddie. They have a ball together.
They love the beach, love going to their nannies farm and love playing with the ball.
I cant imagine my life without Andrew now, he is my little boy.
I am so happy that the K9 Dog rescue gave me Andrew, he is now my world.
Andrews personality is the best and I love him to bits
Thanks K9 Rescue :)

Mason
I’m just sending you a few photos of Mason that we adopted in 2006. We had some difficulties with him to start with as he escaped every time we left the house, but it didn’t take too long for him to learn that we were always coming back home. He’s the most amazing dog, loves other dogs and kids. He loves to play down the beach, and is happy he lives so close to it. Mason got a little sister (Ruby) last year and even though Mason’s 6 years old now he puts up with her following him everywhere and jumping on him (she’s just a pup). Mason is the most patient and friendly dog, we could no longer imagine life without him, he’s a like a family member. He’s hurt his paw on of the photos I’m sending you, but is now fully recovered. Thanks for all the amazing work you!
Karna, Jon, Mason and Ruby

Echo
Hi to all the wonderful volunteers at K9 Dog Rescue.
Just a quick note to let you know that ‘Echo’ is doing well and settling in happily as part of our family.  Attached is 2 photos of our son Reagan with Echo. Reagan just loves Echo and is taking a lot of responsibility in helping look after him.
We have taken Echo to some dog training classes and he is slowly learning how to listen to directions we give him. We still have lots of practise ahead of us but he is wonderful with children and all people. He needs to learn how to ‘bark’ at the right times and to settle when he is with a group of dogs but we know as he is only a 1 year old it will take time and dedication on our part.  Echo loves his food, especially marrowbone treats, playing ball and other toys such as his rope. He also enjoys running around our 1 acre bush block and saying hello to the dogs next door. His tail goes crazy and he gets very excited when we take him for his daily walk/s and when we can let him off lead for a good run.

So, I hope this gives you an idea that we are really enjoying having Echo as part of our family and know that as he matures he will grow into a very loyal, trusting and happy dog.

Snowflake now Taya
My partner Paul and I adopted 'Snowflake' now Taya about 4 months ago and we can't imagine how someone could have let her go from their family as we couldn't imagine ours without her now. She is so loving and kind natured, she's still only about 18 months so a little hyperactive at times but the cuddles make up for it.

She loves the beach and dives head first into the waves which we've never seen a dog do before. She also plays with her paws like hands and often just wants to sit next to us with her paw in our hand - it's hilarious. She is super smart and within the first couple of days we had taught her to sit and shake hands - I of course was the proudest mum ever.
Thanks so much for introducing us, we love her to bits and when we get her a few more manners will be in to look for a friend for her to have around.
Sarah

Picture coming soon!

Garfield now George
George is settling in really well for his first day. A couple of photos are after he had his bath and a little trim so you can see his handsome face, one of him wet after his bath and one eating his treat (in the renovation sandpit backyard) so you can see the colours on his back. He does look like a new dog - and was really good in the bath (the water looked like mud!) and very relaxed and happy afterwards.
He is very placid and getting used to things well. He was very good in the bath, being combed, brushed (I think he'd sit for hours getting brushed) and clipped. So far he hasn't barked at anything - not even my old crow who was not impressed to find a dog in his yard! He loves toys, especially playing fetch with a tennis ball and will bring it back and drop it for you to throw again. He likes his new fluffy toy too.
It took him awhile to come inside as he obviously isn't used to it and we have had a couple of 'marking' incidents, but he's getting the idea. He has worked out that people who pay him a lot of attention and play with him come in the door (he loves pats and cuddles and will take as many as he can get!) and I went out to the shop so he knows I come back, he seemed very happy to see me when I did! Now he is curled up next to me on the floor near the couch as he isn't sure about his bed yet (probably exhausted after his big day too) and is following me around like a shadow if I move anywhere and wagging his tail a lot.
We'll see how the night goes, but I think he will settle really well.
Thank you so much for introducing us to each other!
Samantha and George (no longer Garfield)
